Discharge mitigation methods in MPGD-based detectors
3rd International Conference on Detector Stability and Aging Phenomena in Gaseous Detectors, CERNCERN, Switzerland, 6 Nov 2023 - 10 Nov 20232023-11-062023-11-10 Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research / Section A 1064, 169444 () [10.1016/j.nima.2024.169444] special issue: "3rd International Conference on Detector Stability and Aging Phenomena in Gaseous Detectors"
This work reviews various methods used to minimize the probability of discharge occurrence in MPGDs or to mitigate the effect of spark discharges on the detector system. These include techniques that can reduce the probability that the fundamental discharge limits of MPGD structures are reached during detector operation, methods based on the HV scheme optimization, or the implementation of resistive electrodes to enhance local discharge quenching capabilities in an amplification structure. QCD Anderson transition with overlap valence quarks on a twisted-mass sea
[arXiv:2304.13617]
In this work we probe the QCD Anderson transition by studying spectral distributions of the massless overlap operator on gauge configurations created by the twisted mass at finite temperature collaboration (tmfT) with 2+1+1 flavors of dynamical quarks and the Iwasaki gauge action. We assess finite-size and discretization effects by considering two different lattice spacings and several physical volumes, and mimic the approach to the continuum limit through stereographic projection. [...]

Towards development of Spark-Less-Avalanche-Microstructures
7th International Conference on Micro Pattern Gaseous Detectors, RehovotRehovot, Israel, 11 Dec 2022 - 16 Dec 20222022-12-112022-12-16 Journal of Instrumentation 18(07), C07009 () [10.1088/1748-0221/18/07/C07009]
Spark-Less-Amplification-Microstructures are a new type of gaseous detectors, which should allow overcoming the discharge limitations of the current MPGD technologies. Preliminary studies revealed that sparks usually appear in the narrow region of the amplification gap, where the electric field lines are parallel to each other. [...]
