| 680 | _ | _ | |a The so-called long-term potentiation (long term potentiation, LTP) in the brain is attributed a role in learning and memory formation. The proposed research project is to test the hypothesis whether the presynaptic protein RIM (Rab3-interactive molecule) a key role takes in a cascade of events that lead to a presynaptic form of long-term potentiation in the hippocampus and cerebellum. The work is divided into three parts: 1. Investigation of the cellular mechanisms; by RIM1¿ (a RIM isoform) is brought to emerging and mature synapses. 2. It should be investigated whether RIM1¿ is dynamically associated with the places where neurotransmitters are released into the synapse (active zone) or whether RIM fulfills its function as an integral structural protein of the cytoskeleton of the active zone. 3. Investigation; whether RIM1¿ dynamic association important presynaptic proteins (such as Munc13, Bassoon) regulated with the active zone. |
