000284448 680__ $$aNew ways to develop monolithic active pixel sensors, in which, contrary to conventional so called hybrid techniques, chip and sensor form one unit, shall be pursued in this project. The goal is in particular the detection of particles in depleted substrate volumes together with full CMOS circuitry even in the active area of the pixels. This has not been achieved so far. Apart from some new elements in the design of such structures, a key feature of this project is the better access and collaboration with two CMOS vendors.
