⇧ FOR 751: The science of social stress (SOSS): Understanding the interaction of mind, brain and culture in the response and adaptation to stress ⇧
Note: The central project provides transaction support for the research initiative with respect to consumables and other costs that are necessary to run the projects and to allow a continuing collaboration. The present application builds on regional cooperation with partners from different universities. As explained in the general outline, some goals of the proposed Research Unit can only be achieved by collaboration between multiple members of the network. Examples include the detection and understanding of structural brain changes and the alterations in neuroendocrinological functioning in response to allostatic load. The necessary collaborative and interdisciplinary work spread among researchers from different universities will be funded from and directed by the central project section. Specific expenditures comprise personnel (a position devoted to the development and implementation of shared neuroendocrinological methodology) and funds for joint colloquia, symposia, and guest scientists.
