Note: Within the ever changing and ever innovative field of healthcare diagnostics, ShanX Medtech and Dr. Sophia Eriola Shanko are dedicated to bringing personalised diagnostic testing to the point-of-care, ensuring the timely and appropriate administration of antibiotics to patients. Worldwide over 400 million people visit their doctor with a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) every year. With the majority of UTIs stemming from a bacterial infection, the treatment thereof is straightforward: an antibiotic prescription. However, for physicians determining the correct antibiotic treatment for each patient remains problematic. Furthermore, the global increase in antibiotic resistance rates reinforces the need to improve antibiotic prescription protocols. ShanX is developing a diagnostic tool that can be used at the doctor's premises and it allows the physician to test a series of antibiotics prior to administration, thereby ensuring the subsequent treatment efficacy. The results provided are fast, accurate, and tailored to each individual patient. ShanX Medtech is revolutionizing the antibiotic treatment workflow by enabling fast, evidence-based and personalized antibiotic administration. Sophia is proudly building a world where women, like herself, are defining and designing a better future for patient care.
