Abstract: This proceeding addresses the effect of the neutral molecules trapped by the beam. It is in particular discussed the effect of a non-uniform neutral molecule distribution on the beam profile and the resulting beam lifetime. According to the trapping temperature it is discussed in a general framework how the beam profile is modified. and the consequent beam loss.
