Darmstadt : GSI 75 S. ()

Abstract: The technical design report describes the main requirements, detector layout, and expected performance of the Projectile Spectator Detector (PSD) for the CBM experiment at the future FAIR facility in Darmstadt,Germany. The main purpose of the PSD is to provide an experimental measurement of a heavy-ion collision centrality and orientation of its symmetry plane. Precise event-by-event estimate of these basi cobservables is crucial for many physics phenomena studies to be performed by the CBM Collaboration.
